Tattoo's and culture...

to be honest with you, personally im not the biggest fan of tattoos on me, anyways. i do find that some can be extremely beautiful and can mean so many different things, different emotions and memories.

the image above is an example of a tattoo that would be commonly found on a gypsy. again lots of detail.

tattoos can be extremely seductive.  the tattoo above has intricit detail, which almost looks like there is lace covering the area in which the tattoo is in.

this is where i talk about henna tattoos.

as i am looking at the middle east, its only right i look at indian heritage and henna tattoos. ill look into the heritage further in my next post.

henna art as been practiced in India  Africa and the middle east. the henna plant is believed to bring love an good fortune. traditionally it is used for weddings and celebrations. the ink is made from crushed leaves and is applied to the skin and then removed hours later. it leave beautiful markings on the skin that fade naturally over the course of 1 to 3 weeks.

Nowadays the younger part of society have adapted Arabic writing as part of their tattoos. Celebrities such as Rhianna and David Beckham have even done so. Having a meaning or a saying written on your skin but in a different language is very attractive for some people. It allows the wearer of the tattoo to have its own personal meaning, yes for the world to see but for the wearer to know what it means.
It also adds mystery on what it does actually mean. Besides, the writing in Arabic is very pretty - well I think it does. its not an ugly script.
